This is the trailer for ‘Racing Green. A 8 part series produced for BBC World News and first broadcast in January 2011 to an audience of 73 million people in 220 countries and territories.
The series follows a group of engineering students for Imperial College London who drive the whole length of the Pan-American Highway in a self-built electric super car. The first electric vehicle to drive the longest road in the world – a world record.
I worked for a year with cameraman director, Claudio von Planta, (vonplantaproductions.com) to produce the series. My role was to shoot second camera and edit on the road. Additionally, I project managed a small team of editors who cut the 8 parts as well as cutting episode 3 myself.
Quite a project. 400hrs of rushes cut down to 8 x 22min and broadcast just two months after the expedition finished.
